This is a nuclear fission simulator at the atomic scale. Fire individual neutrons into a field of fissile material and create the largest chain reaction you can. Fission releases energy which you will use as currency to purchase upgrades and make your chain reactions more efficient. Recreate the infamous "Demon Core" experiment at your own peril.

I created this game for the Pirate Software Game Jam 14 which took place in January of 2024. This is my first jam submission EVER. Thank you for playing.

Video Review!

Oh my god, thank you for you playing! And mega thank you for doing a video review! This is invaluable feedback to me, thank you so much.

Definitely! If you make any updates and have tips on how I can do more good lmk!

Now that the jam is over I have an update! There's a devlog, but the tl;dr is: store is fixed, shaders are gone, now playable in web. :D

It seemed to eat my 4070ti to shreds. Was unable to create a real reaction. If you explain what I need to do Id like to give it another shot.

(1 edit)

It seems the store wasn't working! The first level is by far the hardest to run, and you really can't progress if the store wasn't working :( Your reactions are meant to be pretty bunk until you get a few upgrades.

I was under the impression it was far more CPU limited, but I did most of my development on an i9-12900K with a 3090 so my perception is likely to be skewed.

Some notes:

'Energy' is purely a measure of 'score' and used as currency which you would spend in the store (if it worked!).

There is 'radiation' feature where the game randomly gives you the value of a single fission, I noticed you 'waiting for energy to reach 1000' and I had a chuckle LOL

Once again, thank you so much for playing and recording your gameplay, this is beyond helpful for me.

Its also something maybe to do with the fact I was streaming? Unsure. My CPU Seemed unphased but the 4070 was spiking. If you have any suggestions Id like to give it another try.
